Your Business Crad is Crap

I stumbled across the "Your Business is CRAP!" video on on YouTube and found it brutally honest, arrogant, and of course funny, but what really resonated with me was how business cards have become vanilla, generic, cheap, an afterthought.

Business cards are the best inexpensive marketing tools, they speak on behalf of the business. Therefore, business cards have to be simple and clear with visible information on it.

Business cards should clearly explain the business type and the services offered. Cards without clear information will not be effective or CRAP.

Effective + Eye Catching = COOL  Vs. Not professional + Confusing=CRAP.
An effective and powerful eye catching business card can help you get more business and productive prospects. At the same time if the card does not look professional, it can end up in trash.

When a person looks on to the card, they should identify the business type and the services. It should have a valid reason to why people should prefer your services to your competitors. The cards should give a positive composition to the consumer in choosing your services and features.



A creative, attractive or funny business card will go viral and travel like an interesting video on the web. There are chances of many people getting to know about your business through your cards especially if it is attractive and creative.

This method will make your business more prominent and remain in the minds of people for a long time. Business people using creative business cards are more successful than those using ordinary designs and cards.

Funny + Professional = Cool
Creative, funny or very professional cards being eye catching and unique will make people want to show it to others around them. Simple methods as these can result in getting potential prospects for the business.

Nowadays you can find business cards in the shape of vehicles, mostly preferred by automotive companies and spare part selling companies and cartoon characters shaped cards used by multimedia companies. Creative designs and shapes of the cards will reach more people in quick time.

Cards with general humor can spread quickly among people. Avoid using common slogans and captions on the cards. It is always wise to use new and unique slogans on the card. Creativity in designing business cards can make it very effective.

CRAP = Poor Quality + Bad Creative
Unfortunately, many people do not use creative designs they follow the same old tired CRAP methods, and use poor quality cards that peel from the sides or are printed on thin stock. No matter how good the design of the card is, if the quality of the card is poor it sends a negative message to the person you give it to. The message hey I'm CRAP and so is the company I represent.

Being Cool = Good Quality + Great Creative

I can guarantee that a creative designed card will remain in the wallet for a long time. No one will intend to remove a creative card from the wallet, they might even use it as a sample to create one for themselves.
