In 2000 Mr. Olason joined Axient Communications web team once again as a designer where he helped the company develop branding and marketing materials, creative and web/user interfaces for their content delivery solutions for NBCOlympics.com/ Quokka Sports (Sydney 2000), The Ali Project, and Freeplay Music. Axient, reinvented the Internet user experience by delivering media-quality Web experience with full-screen, full-speed, high-resolution video, clear stereo sound and fast text and graphics through it’s next-generation network that was designed to deliver content locally rather than across the congested Internet. Mr. Olason initially joined Action Performance in 2001 as graphic designer responsible for providing NASCAR related vehicle paint scheme concepts for the company’s marketing department and was then promoted to Art director, a role which served for four years. During his tenure as art director he was responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining creative solutions for the company and its 15 brands most specifically the Action Racing Collectibles and Racing Collectables Club of America. Mr. Olason was tasked with leading large and small groups of designers and freelancers, providing art direction, illustration, template maintenance and creation, automation, troubleshooting, coverage planning, investigation and implementation of new technologies, copy writing, annual report development and presentations for the company. In 2005, Action Performance, promoted Mr. Olason to Director of Web Development, responsible for identifying and designing the organizations strategic and long-range web goals, and aiding in the development of a web strategy to support it's business strategy and to coordinate that effort across all company divisions, in Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, and Baraboo WS. Duties included: leading and directing the work, developing and implementing policies and procedures for Action's new formed web team, and reviewing project specifications to ensure that the software developers meet project goals accurately and timely and translating business rules/requirements and developing them into functional web initiatives. Mr. Olason also provided all of the strategic vision and planning to the Enzus partnership which developed a range of NASCAR related toys and an online video game which was pitched to NASCAR in 2008. The partnership was a joint venture between China based Zuru Inc. and Full Circle Holdings in which Mr. Olason coordinated the development of multiple projects and products from the concept phase to the marketplace. |
